Wedding Photography by Wade Snider
Olympic Valley, California
Palisades Tahoe is unreal. You’re up in the mountains with 360 views, alpine air, and a mix of rugged peaks and modern architecture.
The ceremony deck at High Camp overlooks Lake Tahoe and the Sierra range. It feels like you’re on top of the world. The light is clean and consistent, especially in the late afternoon. It’s bold and cinematic without trying.
There’s also a lower venue option near the village that’s just as beautiful. Think forested backdrops, mountain views, and easier access without sacrificing the vibe. Both locations offer totally different but equally stunning looks.
Ask me about the meadow.
I’ve photographed weddings here in every condition. Sun. Snow. Wind. Clear skies. I know how to work with the light, the weather, and the terrain. I know where to take couples for portraits that feel natural but still dramatic.
If you’re getting married at Palisades, it’s going to be unforgettable. I’ll make sure the photos are too.
Location: Olympic Valley, CA
Venue: Palisades Tahoe (High Camp and Village venues)
Style: Modern alpine, bold mountain views, clean architecture
Capacity: Up to 175 at High Camp, up to 225 at the Village Event Center
Ceremony Options: Mountaintop deck via aerial tram, garden lawn surrounded by aspens and pines
Reception Options: Terrace Room with mountain views, Event Center with floor-to-ceiling windows, decks, and firepits
Best Light: Late afternoon at High Camp for dramatic skies, soft filtered shade in the Village garden
Favorite Spot: First look in the meadow and just outside high camp on the top of the mountain.
Photographer Insight: The tram adds a strong storytelling moment. Light shifts fast at elevation, so timing matters. Both locations offer clean backdrops, space to move, and real depth for portraits. Be ready for changing weather and strong sun.
