Sam and Lauren did their engagement session in Napa Valley, right in the vineyard rows as the sun went down.
We walked the vines, found an old stone tower, wandered into a field of flowers and finished the night by popping a bottle of champagne.

The vines · Golden hour
Into the vineyard rows.
We started in the vines with the sun low and warm behind them. Long rows, gold leaves and light that turns everything a little softer. All they had to do was walk.
The tower · Old stone
An old stone tower.
Out in the middle of the vineyard was an old stone tower. Rough stone, tall walls and the two of them in white. It gave the session a totally different look for a few minutes.
The flowers · Off the path
A field of flowers.
Right next to the vines was a field of flowers, so we wandered into it. Green leaves, pink blooms and a lot of laughing.
The finish · Champagne
Then we popped the bottle.
We ended the night with a bottle of champagne in the vineyard. Pop, spray, laughing. If you are going to do an engagement session in Napa, you might as well celebrate like it.

The last hour or two before sunset. The light comes in low across the vineyard rows and everything goes warm and gold. Fall is especially good when the leaves start to turn.
Can we pop champagne during our engagement session?
Yes, and it makes for great photos. Bring a bottle and save it for the end of the session so you are not walking around sticky.
