Dancing Pines Wedding

Teagan & Mike’s Maui Elopement at Wailea Beach Resort

Teagan and Mike met at work. They both loved Maui, so when it came time to plan a wedding, the decision was easy. They brought their families to Wailea and kept everything small. No seating chart. No reception timeline. Just a ceremony above the beach and time to soak it in.

The ceremony took place at 4 p.m. on a cliffside bluff just in front of the resort. The wind had been strong most of the day but dropped right before the vows. The light settled in. They exchanged rings with waves in the background and no one else around.

The day was calm and relaxed. There was no pressure to entertain or perform. Just sunlight, open space, and enough time to let the moment land.

Photography Notes
This section of the resort has room to move without needing to reset anything. The cliff gave us angles and distance. The light held steady, and the layout of the property gave us options without leaving the couple for more than a minute at a time.

Planning Tips

  • Schedule the ceremony late in the day to avoid high winds

  • Consider weekdays for more privacy along the beach path

  • Permits may be required for formal setups near resort cliffs

  • There’s no need to over-decorate. The ocean does the work
