Taylor and Jessie did a hiking engagement session in the hills around Woodside. We started on a shady trail through the trees and climbed until we were looking down at the fog.
Later they got married at Mountain Terrace in Woodside, and I shot that too.

It started on the trail.
We started on a shady trail with the light coming through in pieces. A good place to warm up, because it does not feel like a photo shoot. It feels like a walk.
The boulders · Moss
Moss on everything.
Partway up we found big boulders covered in moss. Gray rock, soft green and the two of them climbing around on it.
The light · Golden hour
Then the sun came through.
As we got higher the sun started coming in low through the trees. That warm side light is the whole reason to do a session late in the day.
The view · Above the fog
Up top, the fog.
At the top we came out onto an overlook with the fog sitting in the valleys below. Sun going down, hills in layers and nobody else around. Worth every step.
