Ceremony at High Camp, Reception at OVECTwo Venues, One Wedding

Veronica and Mike’s winter wedding at Palisades Tahoe was cold, beautiful, and completely committed to the mountain. They did their first look in the big meadow in Olympic Valley, portraits in the snow, then rode the tram up to High Camp for the ceremony. After vows at 8,200 feet they came back down for the reception at the Olympic Valley Event Center. Two venues, two completely different experiences, one unforgettable day. Most couples do not know this combination is even possible. It is.

The Portraits

Winter Portraits in Olympic ValleyBefore the Tram

We started the day in Olympic Valley for the first look and portraits before the tram ride up. Less snow down in the valley than at the summit, which meant open ground, the big meadow, and peaks rising on all sides. Winter light at the base of Palisades Tahoe is soft, flat, and cinematic in a way that summer just does not get. It wraps around everything and makes the mountains feel close.

Veronica and Mike were relaxed and easy with each other. Their group was warm and genuinely excited to be there. We had extra time in the valley and used all of it. By the time we got on the tram everyone was ready. The mountain was waiting.

The Venue

Two Venues, One WeddingHigh Camp and OVEC

Most couples do not know you can split your Palisades Tahoe wedding across both venues. Ceremony at High Camp at 8,200 feet, reception at the Olympic Valley Event Center in the valley below. Two completely different settings, two completely different moods, one continuous celebration. Veronica and Mike did exactly that and it worked perfectly.

High Camp gives you the drama. The tram ride up, the mountaintop ceremony deck, the Sierra stretching in every direction at elevation. The Olympic Valley Event Center gives you the warmth. Floor to ceiling windows, the valley floor, a reception space that handles any weather and any party size. Together they make for a wedding day with genuine range.

The Reception

Back Down to the ValleyOlympic Valley Event Center

After the ceremony at High Camp they rode the tram back down and continued the celebration at the Olympic Valley Event Center. Warm lights, packed dance floor, real joy. The contrast between the raw cold of the mountaintop ceremony and the warmth of the reception below made for a day with two completely different moods and twice as many great photographs.

If you are planning a Palisades Tahoe wedding and considering splitting your ceremony and reception between High Camp and the Olympic Valley Event Center, this gallery is the reference. It works beautifully.
