Britte and Steve

Sand Harbor Elopement

Britte and Steve began their Lake Tahoe wedding day with a beautifully sunny Sand Harbor elopement on one of the most scenic beaches on the lake. With soft morning light and crystal clear water, their ceremony felt intimate and private. As the day progressed, we headed into Olympic Valley for golden hour portraits in the meadow under Palisades Tahoe, a surreal mountain backdrop that lit up just in time. Two iconic Tahoe locations, one unforgettable day.

Sand Harbor and Olympic Valley Wedding in Lake Tahoe

Britte and Steve’s Lake Tahoe wedding started with a small ceremony at Sand Harbor. The beach was quiet, the water was clear, and the light was perfect. It felt calm, real, and exactly how a Tahoe wedding should be.

Later in the day, we headed to Olympic Valley for golden hour portraits at Palisades Tahoe. The mountains lit up just as the sun dropped behind the ridge. That meadow always shows up when you need it.

Shooting in two locations like this gives you range. You get lake views early and mountain light later. It’s the kind of day where you don’t need much else — just two people, the right backdrop, and a bit of timing.

Planning a Sand Harbor wedding?
You’ll need a permit. It’s a Nevada State Park, and they require one for ceremonies and professional photography. Get there early — parking fills up fast, especially in summer. Sand Harbor works best when you keep it simple. Bring a small crew, skip the heels, and let the scenery do the heavy lifting.
